What is a drone-in-a-box?
A drone-in-a-box is a drone that lives in a weatherproof docking station (the 'box'). At scheduled times the box opens, the drone takes off automatically, flies a predetermined route, and returns to recharge and upload the data — entirely without a pilot on site.
The system is ideal for sites that regularly need the same capture: a large construction site, an industrial estate, a quarry or a storage site. You always get the same images from the same vantage point, so evolution and differences can be tracked perfectly.
Applications
Drone-in-a-box is used mainly where repetition and consistency count:
- Periodic site monitoring and progress reporting
- Volume monitoring of stockpiles and quarries
- Security and perimeter control of sites
- Inspection of extensive infrastructure
Our method
- We define the goals, flight routes and frequency together.
- We install and calibrate the docking system and the ground control points.
- Flights run automatically on schedule; we monitor the operation remotely.
- After each flight we process the data into orthophotos, models or reports.
- You consult the results in an online dashboard or receive periodic reports.
Benefits
- No travel or pilot cost per capture
- Always identical, comparable images
- Fast availability of data, even daily
- Fewer people in risky or hard-to-reach zones
What you receive
- Orthophotos and 3D models per flight
- Difference and volume maps between captures
- Online dashboard or periodic PDF report
- Time series of comparable images
