Is a drone survey legally valid?
May a drone survey be used in an official file? The answer depends on the type of assignment — and on who carries out the survey.
Drone data is increasingly used in official files, but 'legally valid' depends on the context and on who carries out the survey.
Survey versus boundary marking
For a boundary marking or fixing a parcel boundary, an official report by a licensed surveyor-expert is required. A drone can support this, but the legal deed remains the surveyor's work.
For surveys, volumes, terrain models and as-built, drone data is perfectly usable in technical and contractual files, especially when it is georeferenced and verified.
Why the executor matters
The difference lies in the substantiation. At Drone4D every capture is carried out under the responsibility of a licensed surveyor-expert and court expert. The data is therefore not only beautiful, but also defensible.
